Coffs Coast Derby Dolls have been a legal sporting body since June
2010:
In that time Coffs Coast Derby Dolls have had two Fund Raiser and Derby
Awareness events, and a successful Exhibition Bout featuring the Sun
State Roller Girls.
Coffs Coast Derby Dolls are now testing their first group of players
and have just had a monster Fresh Meat introduction and intake night.
With the training and development regime that Coach $a$$ and Hyde is
putting in to place Coffs Coast Derby Dolls will quickly reach a skill
level that will see local bouts a reality in 2011.
Stay on board for the ride of your life..
Here is part of the excitement you missed at Coffs Coast Derby Dolls
'BOUT TIME.

Sun State Roller Girls drew a crowd of well over 550 to the first
modern Roller Derby bout to be played in Coffs Harbour.
Local band Bennji played as people wandered into the stadium with
puzzled looks on their faces, unsure of what to expect from the
evening.
As the Sun State Roller Girls finished warming up on the track, one of
the performers from the Australian Institute Of Circus Arts performed a
stunning routine on silks hung from the stadium ceiling.
The SSRG teams then tore up the track as the "Black Betties" and "Cruel Mints" commenced an epic first half battle which saw the "Black Betties leap to a huge lead. Half time saw another amazing act from our local Circus School followed by a Skate skills routine by the Coffs Coast derby Dolls under the leadership of Coach "$a$$'n'Hyde"
The second half saw a crowd rapidly coming to grips with Roller
Derby rules and scoring.
Now as the "Cruel Mints" quickly regained points as their jammers
grabbed any points they could in a dazzling comeback.
By this time the crowd were screaming support for the teams and their
players.
As the clock ran down to the 2 minute mark the crowd were on their
toes, with one jam left the "Cool Mints" were 2 points behind the
"Black Betties".
The jam started and "Rose Ruin" leaped from the jam line and in a
gazelle like display picked off the "Black Betties" blockers and ran
the score into a win for the "Cruel Mints"
The crowd went wild!
Coffs Harbour had met Roller Derby head on and been converted by the
magnificent Sun State Roller Girls.
Next time Roller Derby knocks at your door, rush to answer, it will be
the night of your life.
